I realized last night that I forgot to post some pictures that I took last Tuesday of Ben on his boppy pillow. He really likes playing with the toys. He started grabbing one of the toys and pulling it over to his mouth to gnaw on it! It was so funny and now he does it everytime he plays on the boppy.

15 weeks and still growing!
Ben turned 15 weeks on Wednesday. I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone by. Here are our 15 weeks pictures.
We had a play date with my friend Sara and her little girl, Piper. Sara is the teacher that I co teach with. She's due with her second baby in November and is having a little boy. Piper is two years old now and so cute. She keeps finding her old nuks and tries to give them to her baby brother through Sara's belly button! I'm sorry I don't have any pictures but you'll just have to take my word on how cute Piper is! :)
We had a play date yesterday with our friends' little girl, Abby Violet. Abby is 4 weeks old and about 7 pounds. Ben looks so big compared to her. It's hard to remember when he was that small. I know my memory is only going to get worse as he gets bigger!
So for the most part everyone that I've run into when Ben and I are out and about have said really nice comments and been really sweet. The other day we were walking into Best Buy to look for a cord for our camcorder. I was carrying Ben in his car seat. These two older women were walking a couple of steps behind us. One of the women said to the other one, "Quick. You trip her and I'll take the baby." I know she was probably joking but I was horrified and very angry. No one should say stuff like that even in a joking manner in this day and age. I was so angry! On top of that, she made a comment that I was holding him wrong which I didn't get because there was nothing wrong with the way I was holding my son. I really wish I had said something to them but it's not my personality to do that. I was really angry with myself for not saying something though. I really wish I had and I think if that ever happens again I will!
I am very excited though. We received part of automobile insurance premium back yesterday. I guess it's something that State Farm does when business is good. Yeah for us! I hadn't been able to take any video of Ben because we lost the charging cord to our camcorder in our move to the new house. With the money we got back I was able to buy an inexpensive camera so I can record Ben. Here's the camera I ordered today.

It's supposed to arrive on Tuesday and I can't wait to use it! Hopefully I can begin to post some video of Ben really soon.
Ben is doing all kinds of new things now. He's blowing raspberries at us and still making a lot of sounds. He also like to gnaw on anything he can get his mouth on. We've been working on belly time although it's not his favorite thing in the world. We try to do at least a couple of minutes a day. Here's some pictures we took today. He's doing a great job lifting his head and chest. He's even moving his legs now too. When you look at the pictures, notice the chubby thighs! They're so cute!!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the comments that people have left on our site. I love reading them and knowing that people are enjoying hearing about Ben. Like I've said before, I did this website so our friends and family could view pictures of Ben and know how he is doing. If you know of anyone who would like to see pictures of Ben, please pass the website address along to them. Thanks and all our love to everybody! :)

Too cute!
My son has picked up the cutest habit although it can be frustrating as well. We rock together when we're getting ready for bed. The minute I put him in his sleeper he wakes up and begins to smile and laugh. It's just too cute! Here are some pictures I've taken of him the last couple of nights.

Ben was 14 weeks old on Wednesday. Here's our weekly pictures! :)

We went to my cousin's house the other night for a barbecue. We were going to take Ben and her kids to the beach with her mother and sister and my mother and sister but the weather didn't cooperate. So we had hamburgers and hot dogs and just got a chance to catch up. The kids really liked seeing Ben. Latoya is the oldest at 8 years old, Jordan is 5 and her twin girls, Kelsey and Kaylee are two. I can't believe how big they've all become.

Finally I've been having way too much fun going to Target lately. I heard about a website that had Target coupons for Gerber baby food and Pamper diapers. Here's the site if anyone wants to use them.
The gerber coupon is $1 off 2 gerber products and the baby food ranges from $.52 to $.99. I went with my sister the other day and used 24 coupons. We bought about 50 packages of baby food for about $20! Ben is going to be eating food soon enough and this will help us get started!
I went back today with my mom and sister to use the pampers coupons. Here's my fabulous deal! The coupon is $3 off when you buy diapers and wipes. Target has pampers 2 for $16. You can buy the travel size wipes for $1.69 to qualify for the coupon. So before coupons a pack of diapers and the travel size wipes together are 9.69. You use the $3 target coupon and then I used a manufacturer coupon (you can use both at the same time at Target) for $1.50. So the pack of diapers and wipes ends up costing $5.19. What a deal! :) I bought 7 packs of diapers and wipes and my mom bought 2. I just couldn't pass up that deal when diapers alone usually cost $10.
Oh one more thing. Ben's grammy, my mom, bought him a Bumbo. It's really cool. It's a way for a baby to be able to sit up before they can sit up on their own. Here are some pictures I took of Ben sitting in his new Bumbo! I know he's my son and I'm prejudice but he's too cute!

The Movies with a Baby and a Hot Day!
We decided to go to the movies yesterday. Jason and I went with my mom and my sister. We all wanted to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix so that left no one to babysit Ben. So we decided to take him with us! :) He was so good! We only had to get up once to walk at the back of the theater because he decided he wanted to talk. Other than changing his diaper during the preview there were no problems. But I don't think I'll be doing it again. It was a little stressful for me trying to make sure he wouldn't disturb other movie goers and I think the sound in the theater was a little to loud for his little ears.
Today was a hot day in Leeds so we decided to strip Ben down to his diaper. He looked much more comfortable. You might notice his umbilical hernia. Here's the explanation for why they occur.
"While a baby is in the womb, there is an opening in the abdominal wall beneath the navel. As the baby matures, this hole should close as the abdominal muscles merge. In some babies, the muscles don't merge completely and a hole about the size of a fingertip remains."
Ben's hernia started when he was about 5-6 weeks old. It's actually become much smaller and seems to be shrinking. From what I've read, most hernias disappear by the time they're 2 or 3 and sometimes much sooner than that. But it doesn't bother him and he is just the healthiest little boy!

Ben is 13 weeks old!
So Ben turned 13 weeks old yesterday. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. Now he's smiling and laughing and even beginning to try to roll over. Here's a slideshow of some pictures taken on his week 13th birthday.

On our own!
So Jason and I ventured out on our own minus Ben today. We went to see the movie Transformers and Ben stayed with his grammy (my mom). This is only the second time that I've been out without Ben and it was tough! But it was good for me and Jason to have some time to ourselves and the movie was really good. Here are some pictures that we took of Ben today. The first is Ben in his very first Harley Davidson t-shirt that was bought for him by his Aunt Dar.

The next picture was also taken today because Ben rarley goes through a day without having to change outfits due to spit up, poop and other occurences! :) This outfit was the first baby gift we received for Ben when we were pregnant. It was given by my friend Morgan and the message on the shirt "I was worth the wait" is definately true!
